Part of new Harvard head coach Josh Shapiro’s first recruiting class will include a local midfielder, as New England Revolution Academy U-19 standout Kaoru Fujiwara (Lexington, Mass.) is set to join the Crimson next fall.
Fujiwara is originally from Japan and joined the Revolution for the 2015-16 season. A consistent starter ever since, Fujiwara has seven goals across 34 games in the last season-and-a-half for New England’s U-19s.
He’s a midfielder who’s creative and solid in possession, and his younger brother, Hikaru, is one of New England’s best U-17 players.
