When Wyatt Omsberg (Scarborough, Maine) was selected by Minnesota United with the 15th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft, cheers could be heard from his home state — which has produced only a handful of professional soccer players — to Dartmouth College, where he’d starred as a defender.
The appreciation extended to the Premier Development League, where he stands as a prime example of what is possible for guys still chasing the dream at the third level of the U.S. soccer pyramid.
