As a freshman at La Salle Academy, Olivia Freitas heard from her teammates about the possibility of an accelerated path to regular playing time. The opposite, it turned out, was true.
"I had to prove myself and be daring as a varsity player to earn a spot," Freitas said. "My freshman year, our coach was tough on me, and it’s like people look up to me now."
Given all the Rehoboth, Mass., native has accomplished heading into her senior year, it’s easy to see why.
