The National Women's Soccer League just wrapped up its sixth season, but heads have already turned to what could come in 2019.
As part of that, the NWSL has released its preliminary list of registered players for the 2019 Draft, which will take place Jan. 10 in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago, Ill.
While additional players can register up through Jan. 9, early connections have surfaced via three college standouts. All have roots in Connecticut, either through hometowns or their NCAA careers.
This comes after the only local selection in 2018 was former Yale defender Carlin Hudson. She was selected 39th overall, the penultimate pick, by the North Carolina Courage.
