The National Women’s Soccer League held its College Draft on Thursday as part of the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Baltimore, and three players with ties to New England were selected.
They all went in the fourth round, with Rutgers center back Chantelle Swaby (West Hartford, Conn.) picked No. 29 overall by Sky Blue FC and Yale midfielder Aerial Chavarin selected No. 35 overall by the Chicago Red Stars.
The local group was rounded out by Samantha Hiatt, a former Boston College defender who transferred to Stanford and was picked No. 33 overall by Reign FC. In all, the draft included 36 players selected across four rounds.
