The 13th goal she scored in her high school career is one that Ani Greene of Lexington Christian Academy will always cherish.
In a tight Class D championship game against Vermont Academy three years ago, she collected a slotted pass from her big sister, Nyah, touched it to her left and half-passed, half-shot the ball into the net for a 2-0 lead.
"(Nyah) ran over to me and my teammates ran to me," she recalled. "It was great."
The 2-1 win capped her eighth-grade season with a NEPSAC title, that goal playing a big part.
