Normally, the first weekend of March would include a Development Academy game for the NEFC trio of midfielder Summer Pierson (Framingham, Mass.) and forwards Emma Wennar (North Andover, Mass.) and Francesca Yanchuk (Attleboro Falls, Mass.).
Instead, they recently spent several days in England training with Tottenham Hotspur Women, a club that’s currently sixth in the FA Women's Super League.
The opportunity came about via a three-year partnership NEFC signed with Tottenham in August 2018. The agreement includes coach education and training opportunities for select players.
