On Friday, Major League Soccer’s SuperDraft 2025 was held, and a total of 13 players with New England connections were selected in the three-round draft.
Expansion club San Diego FC selected University of California, Santa Barbara midfielder Manu Duah with the No. 1 overall pick. He is the first SuperDraft selection in club history and the first No. 1 overall selection out of UC Santa Barbara in SuperDraft history.
Leading the way locally was UConn sophomore defender Mikah Thomas, who went ninth overall to Charlotte. He was one of three Huskies players to have their name called in the draft.
