It was a mighty impressive night for New England soccer on Wednesday as 12 players with ties to the region were selected in the three-round Major League Soccer 2023 SuperDraft.
Three of the top four overall picks have connections to New England, led by Duke sophomore midfielder/forward Shakur Mohammed, who played in the NEPSAC and won a New England title at the Millbrook School. He was taken second overall by Orlando City FC.
He was followed by New Hampshire junior back Moise Bombito going third overall to the Colorado Rapids, and Maryland sophomore midfielder/forward Josh Bolma, a former South Kent star, going fourth overall to the New England Revolution.
