MLS SuperDraft 2022 will take place on Tuesday (3 p.m.), as a new wave of professional soccer talent will take shape.
The draft serves as an important step for MLS teams to build their rosters for the future, by adding some of the best players college soccer has to offer.
There will be three rounds, with each team allowed one pick per round. The first pick will be made by Charlotte FC, an expansion team, and they will be followed by the teams that did not qualify for the 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs, beginning with the team with the fewest 2021 regular-season points. The remaining positions are ranked by the fewest regular-season points among the teams that were eliminated in the same round of the playoffs. The New England Revolution, which won the Supporters' Shield for the first time ever and set a league-record for most regular season points, will pick 24th out of 28 first-round selections that will be made. The Revs were knocked out of the playoffs in an Eastern Conference semifinal.
On Thursday, the MLS unveiled the list of 174 eligible players for SuperDraft 2022. Within the list is a strong contingent of players with New England ties. Here are some of those players, who just might hear their name called.
