Six players with New England ties saw their professional soccer dreams become a reality on Tuesday.
Major League Soccer held its 2022 SuperDraft and the region was well-represented amongst the 89 possible selections in the three-round draft.
Leading the way was Stanford junior forward Ousseni Bouda, a former NEPSAC standout at the Millbrook School who was selected in the first round and eighth overall by the San Jose Earthquakes, which will keep him in the Bay Area.
Bouda scored all five goals in Millbrook’s 5-1 win over Pingree in the 2018 NEPSAC Class C championship match. He was named the 2018 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
