For the Beachside SC U-16 MLS NEXT team, the tone was set for a successful 2023-24 season back in September.
A talented group of players displayed the work ethic to match from the get-go.
It all resulted in an impressive run at the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs earlier this month at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Beachside had qualified for the playoffs, based on its play at the MLS NEXT Flex event in May.
Beachside, a Connecticut-based club, advanced all the way to the quarterfinals of the U-16 playoffs, before losing, 1-0, to eventual runner-up Real Colorado. The Elite 8 is the farthest any Beachside team has ever made it in the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs.
