Earlier this month, MLS NEXT released details about the 2023 MLS NEXT Cup playoffs in June.
The qualification process was outlined, including in terms of how it pertains to New England-based clubs, which primarily compete in the Northeast Division.
For U-16 MLS and elite club academies, the top two teams from each division will qualify. For U-17 elite club academies (non-MLS clubs), the first-place team from each division will qualify. For U-17 MLS academies, the top two teams from the Northeast Division and West Division will qualify, while the first-place team from other divisions will qualify, along with a wildcard team. For U-19 MLS and elite club academies, the top two teams in each division will qualify.
