MLS NEXT has announced the selection of forward Olger Escobar (Malden, Mass) to represent the New England Revolution Academy at the league’s second annual MLS NEXT All-Star Game, on Wednesday, July 19 (10:30 a.m.) at the Naval Academy’s Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis, Md.
Escobar is one of 44 players that were chosen, 22 for the East team and 22 for the West.
Escobar, 16, has excelled in the Revolution Academy since joining the club’s pro player pathway in 2018. He tallied 15 goals for the U-17s during the 2022-23 regular season and then played up with the U-19 squad for the MLS NEXT Cup semifinal and final, helping New England claim their second consecutive national title on June 23.
