This past summer, it was fair to wonder if the inaugural MLS NEXT season would actually get underway.
The COVID-19 pandemic threw a giant monkey wrench into life after the Development Academy, with travel across state lines and testing guidelines acting as two large hurdles.
But as October 2020 begins, some of New England’s MLS NEXT teams are approaching their fourth game of the season after matches kicked off Sept. 12. There are still several more gears to reach, but they’re adapting with the times.
