It’s hard to believe, but the final MLS Next event of the 2024-25 season is here.
The MLS Next Cup Playoffs and Showcase, held from June 14 to June 22 at the Richard Siegel Complex in Murfreesboro, Tenn, will wrap up the ninth-month season.
There will be plenty of New England representation at the event.
Seven local teams from four clubs are participating in this year’s playoffs at the U-15 to U-19 age groups. Other New England clubs are headed to Tennessee to partake in the showcase portion of the event.
Here are the New England playoff teams: FC Greater Boston Bolts (U-19), IFA New England (U-17), NEFC (U-17), FC Greater Boston Bolts (U-17), Bayside FC (U-17), NEFC (U-16) and IFA New England (U-15).
In total, 128 teams qualified for the MLS Next Cup Playoffs from the U-15 to U-19 age groups based on results from league play or by winning their group at MLS Next Flex in May. The single-elimination tournament kicks off on Saturday, and the four championship games will be held on June 22 at Nashville SC’s GEODIS Park.
Each age group has 32 playoff teams, so you must win five consecutive games to capture the title.
Ahead of the MLS Next Cup Playoffs, here’s a preview of each age group featuring schedules, players to watch and bracket breakdown.
