There’s no debate in the discussion about which conference in Massachusetts high school girls soccer was the best in 2022.
That crown belongs, undeniably, to the Patriot League.
Three Patriot programs captured MIAA state championships last weekend. Hingham defeated Algonquin, 1-0, for the Division 1 state title. Silver Lake beat Oliver Ames, 1-0, for the Division 2 championship. And, Hanover bested Dedham, 1-0, in the Division 3 final.
It’s clear that the regular season in the mighty league sharpened these teams for the postseason, where they thrived against the best squads the rest of the state had to offer.
