The 2020 Massachusetts high school season, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, will be like no other.
Teams must confront several rule changes and modifications, all while state tournaments won’t be conducted. There are also comings and goings after the Development Academy folded, which led to the MLS NEXT league launching with Massachusetts-based Boston Bolts, NEFC, New England Revolution Academy and Valeo FC still participating.
Nonetheless, we’re looking ahead to the MIAA boys soccer season with teams to watch for, standout players and key storylines. Like most years, Massachusetts is home to a deep, talented high school scene.
Seasons could come and go as the virus charts its course, though we’ll soon find out which teams and players could turn heads.
