Over the last half-dozen years, a steady stream of young, professional forwards can trace their roots to New England.
The group began with Boston College alumnae Stephanie McCaffrey (Winchester, Mass.), who won six U.S. caps while playing for the now-defunct Boston Breakers, and McKenzie Meehan (Glocester, R.I.), who recently won an NWSL title with the North Carolina Courage.
