WORCESTER, Mass. – Conventional wisdom says Lexington Christian Academy wasn't even supposed to be there.
A seven-seed, the Lions had lost important pieces from last year's team, one that they lost 1-0 to Hyde in the 2017 title game. In this year's NEPSAC tournament, Lexington Christian Academy also played a semifinal match vs. Brimmer & May on Saturday night, only to turn around and play No. 1 Hoosac in the final Sunday morning at Worcester Academy.
On short rest and the far lower seed, Lexington Christian Academy certainly weren't the favorites.
That didn't matter much to them.
