Nick Washington and Daimon Pollard lead the Ledyard (Conn.) High School’s boys soccer program in different ways.
Washington is a laid-back central midfielder who never raises his voice. Pollard, meanwhile, wears his heart on his sleeve and has no issue shouting instructions to his teammates from his forward position.
Though they have contrasting personalities, the seniors complement each other on the field perfectly.
Washington and Pollard might be New England’s most exciting duo this season. They totaled 27 goals and 15 assists as juniors, guiding the Colonels to an 8-4 record a year after the team reached the CIAC Class M state semifinal.
