Atlanta United’s 2-1 victory over Minnesota United in the U.S. Open Cup final this past Tuesday gives the reigning MLS Cup champions a chance to go for the “double” this year.
But Five Stripes’ midfielder Jeff Larentowicz expects a challenge in the postseason from the New England Revolution, the team he began his career with in 2005 and that’s now guided by one of his former coaches, Bruce Arena. Larentowicz also played for Brown University from 2001-04.
“They will be a threat in the playoffs,” Larentowicz said of the Revolution. “They have a ton of talent and the best coach in MLS.”
