Just over three years ago, in February 2018, Birmingham Legion FC announced Jay Heaps (Longmeadow, Mass.) as its chief executive ahead of its inaugural USL Championship season.
A dual-role of president and general manager awaited the former New England Revolution head coach, who led the region’s only Major League Soccer side for six seasons, memorably reaching a final in 2014.
