Last fall, as an eighth grader on the Dexter Southfield varsity girls soccer team, Delia Loughnane made her presence felt.
The talented forward, who has also been playing at the club level for South Shore Select since she was six-years-old, was the second-leading scorer for a DS squad that finished the 2022 season at 13-5-2 and advanced to the NEPSAC Class B semifinals.
This spring, on her unbeaten South Shore Select U-14 Girls Academy team, Loughnane’s coach, Brendan Hamilton, estimates that she had the goal or assist in roughly 60-70% of the team’s 88 goals. The team is 22-0-1 and ranked No. 1 for their age group in all of GA.
