The start of the 2020 USL Championship season is right around the corner, with games getting underway this Friday.
While New England is only home to Hartford Athletic as the club enters its second professional season, the domestic second division is chock full of players from the region. In fact, nearly two dozen locals are under contract on opening day rosters as spread across 12 of the USL Championship’s 35 teams.
Ahead of the 2020 campaign, New England Soccer Journal has compiled a comprehensive guide of who to watch for. Local players included are either from the region's six states or went to school here. Simple as that.
Of note, local players on loan from MLS teams aren't listed here – just those under contract.
