NEFC has long been a national powerhouse in the Girls Academy League, and the Massachusetts-based club proved that once again earlier this week.
The Girls Academy Summer Playoffs and Showcase event wrapped up on Tuesday in Norco, Calif., and NEFC delivered a standout performance, with five playoff teams from the club competing and posting an overall record of 14-2-2, highlighted by undefeated runs in group play from the U-14, U-15 and U-16 NEFC Red teams. All three advanced to the GA National Finals in Richmond, Va., which will be held July 10-13.
The six-day playoff competition was held at SilverLakes Sports Complex, as teams were looking to solidify a spot at the GA Finals. As is the case at all GA national events, hundreds of college coaches and scouts were in attendance at the event as well.
