The upcoming Girls Academy Northeast Talent ID will have plenty of New England representation.
60 players from New England clubs were invited to attend the prestigious ID camp during Thursday's roster release. The Northeast Talent ID features the top Northeast Conference players from the 2008-2011 age groups. CSA Monmouth will host the camp on May 7 at Capelli Sport Complex in Tinton Falls, N.J.
The invited players will partake in classroom sessions, on-field training and full-game experiential learning. Bayside FC, NEFC Navy, NEFC Red, Oakwood SC, Rhode Island and Seacoast United are the New England clubs with players attending the event.
NEFC Red led the way with 19 players selected, including five each at the 2008, 2009 and 2010 age groups. Among the players attending from New England are Rhode Island Surf forward Alexa Barajas and Oakwood's Zoe Melia, a recent call-up to the Puerto Rican U17 National team. Players from Cedar Stars, Downtown United SC, Long Island SC, New York Soccer Club, Rochester NYFC, STA and Syracuse Development Academy are also attending.
Meanwhile, Bayside’s Chris Clarke, NEFC Navy’s Mo Keita and Rhode Island Surf’s Brad Furnival will help coach.
