ECNL Phoenix is in the rearview mirror, which means the home stretch for New England Conference play is underway.
The regular season ends on May 18, making these next few weeks critical as teams vie for playoff spots. At the 2008 level, FC Stars Blue already clinched a postseason berth after capturing the inaugural New England Conference Cup over World Class FC last month in Long Island.
But three playoff spots are still up for grabs from the New England Conference. World Class, SUSA FC, Scorpions SC, South Select and FC Stars White are all in the mix. Teams like FSA and Connecticut FC are also hoping to make a late-season push up the standings.
With the postseason nearing, we felt it was a perfect time to recap what’s happened so far in ECNL New England and forecast what to look for over the final four weeks of the regular season at the 2008 level.
