PHOENIX, Ariz. -- At times, goals were difficult to come by for U-16 teams at the ECNL Girls Phoenix showcase over the weekend.
In fact, our five New England sides combined to score just 19 goals over the course of the three-day event. Each team played three games over that span.
That all speaks to the incredible level of talent and competition that was present in Phoenix, as the top ECNL teams from across the country descended to the desert for a great weekend of soccer in front of hundreds of college coaches and scouts.
Whether it was scoring goals, or creating chances, plenty of U-16 forwards shined at the showcase.
