LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — Over the last few weeks, we’ve unveiled standouts at forward, midfield and defense from the ECNL Girls’ Florida winter showcase held Jan. 11 to Jan. 13 at the Premier Sports Complex.
But there’s one final group of players to highlight from the event: the goalkeepers.
Goalies are often the unsung heroes of a soccer team, but one crucial save from them can directly correlate to a victory. A good goalie rises to the occasion in the game's biggest moment. The three goalkeepers - South Select’s Bella Moore, Scorpions SC’s Olivia Iafrate and FC Stars Blue’s Alyna Eggleston - stood out behind their shot-stopping and distribution, helping their respective teams post successful results at the three-day showcase.
