Should health and safety allow, Division I college soccer programs will have a national championship to compete for next spring.
The NCAA’s Division I Board of Directors voted Friday to adopt the Division I Council recommendation around fall championships, with a scaled-back version now slated for the Spring 2021 semester. The decision surfaced after over 50 percent of schools nationally canceled or postponed their seasons.
The exact format for the national tournament isn’t yet determined, with final decisions on bracket sizes and composition to be made at a later date.
