One gets the feeling that players from Springfield and WPI would rather run sprints until nightfall than concede a goal to the other.
For the third straight time, the two NEWMAC rivals played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer on Saturday, a 0-0 draw that settled nothing in what’s become a three-way battle at the top of the league.
With one game to play, Babson (9-2-4) sits in first place with a 4-0-2 mark. Springfield (11-3-1) is right behind at 4-1-1, while WPI (11-2-3) is a close third at 3-0-3. Each team will play its final conference game Saturday before the tournament next Tuesday.
