When you’re taking over as head coach of a program that happens to be the defending national champion, it would be natural for a person to feel some pressure to maintain that high standard.
But new Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer head coach Travis Brent is confident in what he brings to Rindge, N.H., and his ability to help keep the Ravens at the top of the Division 2 food chain.
"I don’t want to sound conceited when I say this, but I know what a national championship-caliber program is. I won a national championship in 2019, I went to a national final in 2021, I went to the Elite 8 last year," said Brent. "It is a lot of pressure, but I quite enjoy the pressure. I want to win a national championship, that’s my goal as a head coach. This is a perfect place to continue the legacy of what Franklin Pierce is about and I believe it will afford me the opportunity to reach my goals and ambitions as a head coach."
