Christian Garner (Orleans, Mass.) and Andrew Stevens (Marshfield, Mass.) have been best friends since they were middle-schoolers, sharing a bond that strengthened even more when they played together at the Brooks School and helped lead the team to Independent School League (ISL) titles in 2016 and 2017.
After graduating from Brooks, they went their separate ways to Division 1 college programs. Garner, a goalkeeper, headed to Boston College, while Stevens, a midfielder, headed to Columbia. Still, they always kept a seemingly hypothetical idea in the back of their minds.
"Back in the day, before COVID happened, we’d be like 'oh that would be funny if someone transferred or we got to play professionally together one day, or something like that,'" said Garner.
Well, the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed that hypothetical to come to fruition.
