Most U-13 soccer players spend their summer at camps or with family, enjoying some rest and relaxation before the 2019-20 season comes around.
Overseas tournaments? Not so much.
Step in five players from Connecticut, who helped buck that trend as part of a National Center of Excellence U-13 squad that won their division at the Gothia Cup in Sweden last Saturday. This year’s tournament brought together 1,686 teams from 75 countries and across several continents.
