As memorable as Casey Milliken’s sophomore season was, he has trouble recalling the end of the MIAA Division 2 state final against Hopkinton.
That’s because the Class of 2025 standout capped off a dramatic Oliver Ames comeback with the go-ahead goal in the final minutes of regulation. The Tigers netted the equalizer with two minutes left, and then senior defender Jake Williams launched the ball into the sky and toward the net. Milliken beat two Hopkinton defenders to the spot, before flicking the ball out of midair over his shoulder and above the keeper’s outstretched arm.
It all happened so fast.
