PHILADELPHIA – New England Revolution general manager Mike Burns, speaking outside the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, made no secret that he’s sought out ways to address depth on the right-hand side this offseason.
With the eighth and ninth selections in the first round, Burns satisfied that search to some degree, successively picking Brandon Bye and Mark Segbers.
Bye played midfield at Western Michigan, earning First Team All-American honors following his senior season, while Segbers played midfield at Wisconsin, earning Second Team All-Big Ten honors in 2017. Burns, however, said both could convert to right back for the Revs, having featured there at the MLS Combine in Orlando, Florida.
