Owen Finberg has found his next New England soccer challenge.
The highly successful head coach, who built the South Kent School into a national powerhouse over nearly two decades, has been hired to lead the Woodstock Academy boys soccer program in Woodstock, Conn.
Finberg brings a massively impressive track record to Woodstock. He took over the South Kent program in 2004 and proceeded to lead the Cardinals to 10 New England championships and multiple national championships. South Kent became a NEPSAC power, capturing back-to-back Class B championships in 2019 and 2021 (there was no season in 2020). The team was ineligible for the postseason last fall but still went 18-0-1 in Finberg’s final campaign at the school.
