Since Black Rock FC was launched in 2013, it has searched for creative, innovative ways to expand opportunities for prep school players. For those in the NEPSAC, location, on-campus requirements and weekend classes typically don't jive with a traditional club soccer schedule.
Embarking upon that has resulted in some shifts in the Northeast's youth soccer landscape over the past year or so. Driving most of the changes have been CEO Jon Moodey and COO Tony Mohammed, both former coaches at Class A powerhouse Berkshire.
First, Black Rock FC is running the second year of its prep academy. That features regionalized training, games in a BRFC Academy League and travel to top-end college showcase events.
