Before the winter sports season hits its stride, let's take a look back at the 2025 MIAA girls soccer season.
The state tournament concluded on Nov. 21 and 22, with five state champions being crowned at Doyle Field and Curry College. As is always the case with the postseason, there was no shortage of drama or individual heroics.
Division 1 featured heroics from Nicole Proia (and several others) down the stretch as Natick won its third title in five years, while Lilal MacQuarrie was among a few clutch performers for a Duxbury squad that earned redemption in Division 2. Division 3 featured redemption as well for Medfield, behind a stellar season for Sidney Heavey, among others. In Division 4, Ava Magnuson's productive senior season paced Sutton to a fifth consecutive title. Hull also avenged last season's championship loss in Division 5.
Each of the above players earned a spot in our Best XI from the 2025 season.
Who else earned a nod?
We picked four forwards, three midfielders, three defenders and one goalkeeper. Naturally, beyond just the players mentioned below, there are plenty of other players around the state who are more than deserving of recognition.
Let's dive in.
