Anthony Catanzaro didn’t know much about UMass before this year.
The All-State selection from Conard High School (West Hartford, Conn.) took an official visit last year, and was impressed by the athletic facilities and the Isenberg School of Management, UMass’ business school. It didn’t take long for Catanzaro to decide he wanted to continue his playing career in Amherst.
“They play in a very good conference, and I want to play a high level of soccer while getting a very good education,” Catanzaro said. “They checked all of the boxes for me.”
Catanzaro verbally committed to the Minutemen on June 18. The rising senior also plays club soccer for FSA FC of the ECNL.
