Right now, New England is home to two of men’s Division 1 top-20 programs in the country.
Sitting at No. 4 in the latest United Soccer Coaches top 25 is unbeaten New Hampshire (12-0-1). The Wildcats, who tied Yale, 1-1, on Tuesday night, are also second in the nation in RPI.
While UNH has become a bit of a known commodity this fall around college soccer circles in the region, the other top-20 team that resides in New England has flown a bit under the radar. But there is a chance for that team to make a major statement tonight.
Twentieth-ranked Providence (7-1-3, 3-0-2 Big East) will host No. 1 Georgetown (10-0, 4-0 Big East) at 7 p.m. The Friars have been outstanding since suffering their only loss way back on Sept. 3 against New Hampshire, a 2-1 final.
