UMass Lowell packed a lot of success into a condensed spring.
The River Hawks went 5-2-1 overall and won all four conference games, earning the America East regular-season title for the first time before falling to Binghamton, 1-0, in the tourney semifinals.
While it would be reckless to call Lowell the favorite — two-time defending champion Stony Brook topped the preseason poll, receiving all but one of the first-place votes — the team should again be a player, with some top talent returning.
