With the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup here, excitement is building for what should be an amazing competition. The world’s best soccer players will be on show for young female players in our region and across the globe.
As I thought about the importance of this year’s event, I wanted to get the perspective of Jessie Davis, one of my colleagues at Liverpool FC International Academy.
Since Jessie joined our club, she has been an inspiration to me as well as to our players, especially those on the girls’ side. Jessie already has had a wonderful career in the game after graduating from Penn State in 2009. She continues to play professionally for Glentoran FC (Northern Ireland) while also working for our club from Belfast.
From 3,000 miles away, I wanted to get Jessie’s thoughts on the 2019 Women’s World Cup and how she sees things as a player who continues to apply herself in the women’s game and continues to inspire so many around her.
