Glastonbury (Conn.) High head coach Mark Landers recalls being left speechless during a 3-0 loss in September.
The affliction made sense, considering the Tomahawks were fresh off a Connecticut state title the year prior. In fact, that 2017 championship was the program’s fourth in five years. So for Glastonbury to stumble to a 2-2 record this year was hard for Landers to explain.
“What do you say at that point?” Landers says. “I don’t know the last time we were (beaten) that badly. We didn’t work as hard as a normal Glastonbury team would."
