In the absence of a true 2020 NEPSAC season, players are losing valuable recruiting opportunities. The Northeast Soccer Jamboree, held each September at Loomis Chaffee, comes to mind, as do the year-end championships, which aren't taking place.
Teams are still training and scrimmaging where possible, making the most of restraints imposed by the COVD-19 pandemic. It's not ideal, but they're getting creative amid a tough set of circumstances.
These dynamics impact seniors and PGs at New England-based prep schools the most. This might be their last window to get seen, and real-time games are the best recruiting platform.
