As the NEPSAC girls’ season fast approaches, a frequent talking point among coaches centers around the number of legit Class A contenders entering 2026. Several talented teams with high expectations will not make the eight-team tournament field when all is said and done.
That’s how it goes in the NEPSAC, where the blue bloods don’t seem to ever go away, and upstart programs are constantly trying to catch them. Our preseason Top 10 reflects both the established powers and the up-and-comers. The last three Class A champions landed inside the top four of our preseason poll. The Top 10 also features two rising programs, including one that reached its first-ever Class A tournament a season ago.
Prep soccer also never stays static. Every season brings new challengers who come out of nowhere to make noise. All of those factors should make for a chaotic — and entertaining — fall across the NEPSAC.
