Founders League girls preview: Favorites, sleepers, predictions, best XI

In our bold predictions story a few weeks ago, I went on a limb and said no Founders League team would make the NEPSAC girls Class A championship game in 2026.

There’s a reason it was categorized as bold — perhaps extremely bold. A Founders League team has reached every Class A title game since 2015, including last year when Miss Porter’s and Westminster squared off for the championship in an all-Founders League tilt.

The Founders League, a nine-team conference comprised of Connecticut schools, is known as the deepest and most talented league in the NEPSAC. And after sending four teams to the Class A tournament last year, and another to the Class B field, the Founders League teams are primed to play a big role in how the 2026 season shakes out.

“The Class A tournament is a Founders League invitational,” is a joke often heard around the NESJ offices.
